Family account: card merging to one account
Family account is the System feature that allows several Loyalty Program members to combine their bonus cards under one shared account in order to save and spend bonus points together.
Any card types (physical, virtual and additional) can be merged.
Family account features
- Loyalty Program members accumulate and spend bonus points from the same account;
- Purchase history and balances become shared from the time of merging;
- Each card retains its own type;
- It is possible to customize separate preferences for each card type;
- Each individual card contributes bonus points to the shared bonus account as consistent with its percentage for bonus points accrual;
- If one of the LP Members leaves the Loyalty Program, all bonus points earned by that Member will remain in the family account and will be available for use by the remaining Members;
- It is impossible to split the cards combined under one account;
- If the shared account is blocked, all cards in the combined group will be blocked.
- Maximum number of LP Members who can merge cards under one account is set up by the System configurations.
How cards can be merged into a family account?
Cards can be merged into a group using:
Example of card merging
Let's consider the example of merging accounts using two LP Members as an example. There are two LP Members in the System with the following active cards:
Name of LP Member | Card type | Card number | Currency |
---|---|---|---|
John Black | Virtual | 000024502 | Bonus points |
Mary Black | Main | 1077060001 | Bonus points |
Additional | 1029310001 | ||
Virtual | 000025002 |
Before account sharing, each LP Member had an individual account. The LP members decided to merge their accounts into a joint family account. With help of the Call Center, the virtual card 000024502 was merged with the additional card 1029310001 of the second LP Member. The process of card merging is carried out using the card numbers, but it is not the cards per se that are merged, but the accounts. After the accounts are merged, all cards of Mary Black (main, additional, virtual) will be linked to the joint account. The account number of John Black will remain active, as the accounts were merged via his customer profile in the Call Centre. The accounts cannot be split back. Accruals and deductions of bonus points on all cards of Mary Black will be made from the joint account.
Customers can view the result of the accounts merging using the customer services (Mobile App or Personal Account), and Marketing Management Platform users — in the Customer Profile in the Call Centre section or in the Customer Profile in CRM.
