Security of conducting operations

Two-phase conducting of operation

Operations conducted at the cash register require confirmation or cancellation. This means that after purchasing operations (calculating direct and bonus points, payment with bonus points, refunds, etc.), you need to send a confirmation or cancellation command to the cheque. The purchase is considered incomplete until it is confirmed or canceled.

This mechanism enables to avoid mistakenly conducted operations, prevents a change in the balance of the customer's account and cash register until confirmation of purchase operations is received.

Operation limits

The system provides for a number of limits when conducting operations on the card, at the cash register, in the point of sale. These limits enable to avoid violations of the rules of the loyalty program by customers and cashiers and also block mass operations in case of unauthorized access to accounts.

When setting limits, you can set soft and hard boundaries. For soft limits, a range of critical values is set. When the lower boundary is reached, the system starts sending alerts to the security service, the action is blocked only after reaching the upper boundary. Hard limits set a single boundary upon reaching which the committed action is immediately blocked.

A complete list of limits and instructions for setting them is presented in the Limits section.

Card limits include the following limits:

  • to the amount of accrued bonus points for one purchase and the total amount of bonus points accrued on the card;
  • to the amount of bonus points deducted in payment of one purchase and the total amount of bonus points deductions on the card;
  • on the number of operations to accrue bonus points for purchases in one point of sale;
  • on the number of manual operations of accrual/deduction of bonus points from one cash register per period;
  • on the number of purchases at one cash register or in one point of sale per period.

In addition, there is a limit to the maximum balance in the user's account.

Cash register limits include limits:

  • to the amount of accrued bonus points for purchases;
  • to the amount of payment for purchases with bonus points;
  • to the amount of bonus points and manual deductions;
  • to the amount of accrued additional bonus points and manual accruals.

For the point of sale, it is possible to set a limit on the number of purchases for a certain period.

Setting limits is available in the MMP admin panel and includes the same features as setting limits for access to the system (see Access limits).

Confirmation of bonus points deduction

When configuring a point of sale in the system, it is possible to set a mandatory confirmation of the bonus points deduction operation. When the Confirm bonus points deduction flag is enabled in these points of sale, bonus points will be deducted from the accounts of the LP Member after confirming the operation using a code sent by SMS to the phone numbers of the LP Members.

This mechanism enables to further verify the identity of the customer and thereby provide the safety of his/her bonus account.

Card blocking

If the card is lost or activity is detected on the card (for example, bonus points deduction) without the participation of the owner, the customer has the opportunity to block the card in one of the following ways:

After blocking the operation of accrual and deduction of bonus points on the card become impossible. A blocked card can be replaced with a new one or unblocked and continued to be used.
