Card lifecycle


Bonus cards have various states. Depending on the state, the set of actions that can be performed with bonus cards may vary.

The set of states for physical and virtual cards is different.

Note: The necessity  of linking a physical card and a virtual card when registering a new customer in the Loyalty Program is determined by the configuration settings.

Physical card:

PreparedA card is issued and ready to be delivered to a client (or for sale).

In this state, a physical card can be delivered (sold) to a customer. A virtual card in this state can be linked to the customer profile during his/her registration.

Bonus points can be accrued to a physical card in this state as part of offers. It is not possible to deduct bonus points from a card in this state.

Issued A card will go into this state only if it is issued (sold) at a point of sale using command of cash register, i.e. after sending to the system the structured request for a card issue.

This intermediate state is optional.

In this state, bonus points are accrued to the card, and cannot be deducted from the card.

ActivatedThe card goes to this state after the LP Member has gone through all the stages of registration:
  • acceptance of the Public Offer; 
  • linking a phone number;
  • linking a physical card;
  • filling in required application form details. 

The virtual card goes to this state after the customer has gone through all the stages of registration, and the virtual card in the registration process has been linked to his/her profile.

In this state, it is possible to perform all possible actions in the system with a physical card, for example, authorize using the card number in the Personal Account, Mobile Application, Chatbot.

Bonus points can be accrued to physical and virtual cards in this state, and bonus points can also be deducted from them.

Replaced 

The physical bonus card goes into this state if after blocking the card is replaced with another card with a new number. In this case, all information about the LP Member (account balance, operation history and personal data) is stored.

After the switching to the Replaced state for the physical card, the operations of accruing and deducting bonus points become unavailable. A replaced card cannot be used when making purchases.
Expired

A card that has expired will go into Expired status when a special regular task is triggered.

Only cards with a limited validity period can have this state. The expiry date of the cards is set when creating the card categories.

A special regular task must be set up for cards to periodically go into the Expiry state.

A card with expired date will not be available for use by an LP Member, no matter if it has gone to Expired state or not.

Blocked

The card goes to this state when a blocking command is called in the Personal Account, Mobile Application, Chatbot, as well as when the cardholder contacts the Call Center agent.

Using a card in this state it is not possible to make purchases. Also, operations of accruing and deducting bonus points cannot be conducted using a card in this state.

It is possible to unblock a blocked physical or virtual card and continued to use it.

A blocked physical card can be replaced with a new one, for example, if it is damaged or lost.

Deleted

A physical or virtual card can go into this state from any other state. To delete a card, go to the Call Center section.

The card also goes into this state when the LP Member refuses to participate in the loyalty program in the Personal Account or using the Call Center.

In this state, the card is not displayed in the card group in CRM.

Such a card cannot be used when making purchases; for it, operations of accruing or deducting are not available. It is also impossible to authorize in the Loyalty Program by the number of the deleted physical card.

A deleted card can be restored using the Call Center.
